Packing Instruction
Even though we offer full packing of your belongings, there might be some cases where you would prefer to take care of the packing yourself.
For those cases we have put together this handy packing instruction to help you pack your belongings in a safe and easy way.
Remember! We supply you with all the necessary packing materials.
- Moving boxes must be assembled according to the assembly instruction which is printed on the box. Boxes not assembled correctly might break during the move.
- A moving box must not be loaded with more than 30 kg (65 lbs.). Feel for yourself. Rather divide the content in two lighter boxes, than one heavy.
- When packing books, only put one layer in the bottom of the box. Fill up with pillows and blankets (or other lighter items).
- Make sure the box can be closed. Never pack more than what fits in the box, but try as you might to fill the box completely. This makes the box stronger, and avoids it from collapsing underneath the weight of other boxes when stacked on top of each other.
- Pack the china in wrapping paper. Make sure you wrap each single piece, and remember to put a layer of creased paper in the bottom, to cushion the rest.
Avoid old newspapers when you can and you won't have to wash of the china for leftover ink from the paper. - Wrap and pack glass effect in a seperate box. Never mix glass with other hard items (such as china).
- When possible, also pack you plants in boxes. Any plant too high to fit in the boxes can go in an open box. This makes them easier to handle and keeps than somewhat seperated from other items.
- No not pack flammable, toxic, explosive, currosive or similar items. Leave these behind, or turn them over to the nearest authorities.
- Processed food, detergents and similar that don't fall into above mentioned items, should be packed in strong plastic bags before they are put into the box.
- Dismantle any curtains or blinds that you are taking with you, and disassemble any electronic items before the day of the move.
- Washing machines must be secured for transport. Refer to your user manual.
These are general recommendation and guidelines, but in our experince they help to prevent and diminish any inconveniences that might arise during a move.
