We Help Seating The United Nations Climate Conference (COP15)
Sunday, 06 December 2009From December 7 to December 18, 2009, world leaders will meet at COP15 United Nations Climate Conference in Copenhagen. The Danish artist-craftman and designer Tyge Axel Holm has spent more than two years on a round table for this special occasion. The table measures 5.5 metres in diameter with 25 chairs and was set up friday 4 December in the Bella Center in Copehagen.
The table is to take centre stage the last four days of the conference when the top politicians are expected to meet around the table for the concluding negotiations.
Recommended by Bruun Rasmussen, we were entrusted with the great responsibility of transporting the table and chairs from Tyge Axel Holm's workshop on Bornholm to the Bella Center in Copenhagen and placing the table and chairs on a platform at the entrance.
The table was transported in several parts. The table top itself consisted of 30 parts each wrapped in blankets. The underframe was also packed in many parts and each chair was wrapped in blankets and placed individually in cardboard boxes. The transport from Bornholm was made with a separate truck.
When the conference finish we will pick up the table and chairs again and take it to the next destination.
